Gallery is a free mobile app tool that enables you to view and edit your mobile device’s images and videos with ease. Developed by SB studio, this file viewer application is designed to offer more functionality compared to your default Gallery app by giving more customization options with its editor tool.

Compared to other image-viewing apps, Gallery can feel far too similar and unoriginal. Your favorability with it will mostly depend on your user experience with the app itself. However, multiple users do report struggling with the pop-up ads that constantly play in this app.

Treat yourself to more functionality

Typically, image viewer apps on mobile devices usually try to add something new to the table just to be able to get ahead in the competition. This is because the default Gallery app you already have tends to be a well-rounded tool for what most require. Any format file is read by the app—unless a downloaded image gets sent to another part of the storage—and so you can easily view them. 

You can also edit them right there and most of the time, you can resize, crop, apply filters, add stickers, and draw on them through the touchscreen. It’s this part of the app that will usually prompt people to look for more tools and functionality, though. That’s why a lot of image viewers and “gallery” apps offer more personalization options. Gallery by SB studio is not exempt from this, as its file-viewing capabilities are just your run-of-the-mill standards. It really goes all in with its editing tools.

Some familiar features

Gallery by SB studio boasts of its HD photo editor, which allows you to apply beautiful filter effects, do quick resizes and crops, add stylized texts with different fonts, and insert stickers—which all sound pretty common, sure. However, it also offers the ability to create special animated galleries and photo albums. You can even use it as a camera to access your photos much faster in the midst of capturing the perfect shot. 

This mobile app doesn’t just support image files, though. You can also play videos on your gallery and even edit them there—though take note that the video-editing capabilities here are a bit limited compared to what you can do with images. Aside from these features, you can also use the app’s Gallery Lock and Photo Vault, which lets you hide selected files from prying eyes. However, be prepared for lots of ads popping up whenever you navigate. You can purchase the Pro version to get rid of them.

Not that distinct

All in all, Gallery by SB studio is an interesting little utility for mobile devices but it can look pretty basic if you compare it to other similar apps. It has cool photo and video-editing capabilities and can protect your files, if necessary. However, since it’s free, it relies on ad revenue to support it and the ads sadly get a bit annoying to deal with every few seconds.
